TAYLA Stanley had a day out as Woorinen spared no mercy on Cohuna Kangas on Saturday.
Goal shooter Stanley was at times unstoppable, scoring an outstanding haul of 67 goals in the Tigers’ 82-26 demolition of the visitors at Woorinen.
Stanley impressed from the get-go as Woorinen marched to a 24-4 lead at quarter-time before extending the gap to 38 at the main break and 45 by the final change.
Woorinen now has four wins from as many starts this season and boasts a superb percentage of 216.95.
Stanley was among a raft of stars in the yellow and black, with centre Tessa Burton, wing defence Ashlee Donnan and goal attack Amy Cadd also enjoying fine games.
Goal attack Kobie Free was named as the best for the Kangas, who remain anchored to the bottom of the ladder without a win.
Kerang was the venue of the Round 5 thriller where the home side Blues and Tooleybuc Manangatang fought out a draw.
The Saints produced a fine last-quarter to overhaul a seven-goal deficit and share the four points with the home side after the final scoreboard read 47-47.
Wing defence Danielle Dillon was named best for Kerang, with goal attack Julie Wardle an instrumental figure in Tooleybuc Manangatang’s comeback.
The result proved a winner for both sides, who leapfrogged NNW United and Balranald on the ladder into the top five.
In the round’s other match, Lake Boga registered its first win of the season with a 60-19 dispatching of Koondrook Barham.
The Magpies were certainly overdue for a victory after three solid performances against Balranald, Kerang and Tyntynder without success, and could thank a sensational second term for providing that winning foundation.
Lake Boga put the result in no doubt with a 20-3 quarter to lead by 22 goals at the main break.
Centre Lauren Pumpa was named as Boga’s best player, while star goal shooter Jaclyn Clark impressed with 44 goals.
Koondrook Barham struggled for fluency throughout, although Kate Azzopardi impressed at wing defence.
