Grand contests ahead

NORTHERN Razorbacks and St Mary’s Tyntynder will meet in the grand final of the Swan Hill District Cricket Association’s under 17s competition from Friday.

The semi-finals were completed last week, with the Razorbacks claiming a first innings win over Woorinen.

Woorinen’s first innings total of 107 was eclipsed by the Razorbacks’ 111, which was achieved for the loss of five wickets.

St Mary’s also had a first innings win in its semi-final win over Sea Lake Woomelang.

St Mary’s batted first scoring 185, with Austin McKerrow top-scoring with 63 and Brent Daniels making 43.

Sea Lake Woomelang was only able to manage 100 with Jonty Chaproniere taking 2-7 and Brent Daniels 2-9.

Under 14s

RSL claimed first innings points over Woorinen in the first semi-final at Gurnett Oval on Saturday.

Woorinen batted first and was only able to managed 59, with Jack Cook destroying the Blues’ middle and lower order and finishing with six wickets.

Alex Ralph also played an important role, capturing both of the openers’ scalps for 15 and 13 respectively.

In reply, RSL scored 2-69 with Tom McGregor managing 31 at the top of the order.

The other semi-final saw Northern Razorbacks claim a first innings win over Sea Lake Woomelang.

Sea Lake batted first setting a total of 65, with Josh Wooding claiming three wickets.

Northern Razorbacks then managed 74, despite Callan Noonan’s efforts of 2-8 off five overs with the ball.
