Day of redemption

AND then there were two.

After one of the most evenly contested seasons, we are left with the challengers versus the champions.

Having fallen short in the penultimate game of the season 12 months ago, Nyah-Nyah West United will be back on the grand stage tomorrow afternoon, where they will be hoping for redemption against the two-time reigning premiers.

For Kerang, it won’t be redemption that motivates them, the Blues having played in 14 of the past 18 grand finals, but a burning desire to send senior coach Troy Coates and potentially several club champions off with one last taste of victory.

At the same time as the Central Murray’s top two teams are battling it out on the Showgrounds, there will be an equally explosive contest taking place at the Alan Garden Reserve – where redemption will once again be the word of the day.

Having gone through the season undefeated, Lake Boga will be hoping to finish off their perfect season in style by dethroning the reigning premiers and ending a 59-year A grade premiership drought for the black-and-white army.

In order to taste that long-awaited victory, the Magpies must first overcome one final hurdle – the same hurdle they failed to navigate 12 months earlier.

What a day it promises to be.

Whether it’s on the court or on the oval, it’s sure to be an exciting climax to one of the best seasons in recent memory.

Congratulations and good luck to all those competing or officiating tomorrow: may your day be an enjoyable, safe and, most of all, successful one.
