ULTIMA TUF proved too strong for Lakers in Swan Hill District Cricket Association’s one-day round on Saturday.

Batting first at home, Lakers managed 96 from 37 overs with Alan Hatcher top-scoring with 19.

It was an all-round performance with the ball for UTUF, with four bowlers each claiming two wickets.

In reply, the visitors surpassed the home side’s total for the loss of six wickets with Nicholas Launer managing 28.

Woorinen hosted St Mary’s Tyntynder and proved too strong, setting a total of 147 for the visitors.

Glenn Violi was the stand-out performer with the bat for the home side making 55.

St Mary’s was dismissed well short of the total, making 113 off 37 overs.

Luke Crow managed a five wicket haul for Woorinen, while Zac Ryan and Tyler Beasy each claimed two wickets.

RSL got the points over Swan Hill at Gurnett Oval, with Brenton Caldwell’s 43 helping the home side to a total of 169.

The home side saw out its 40 overs for the loss of nine wickets, with Harry Clewett’s three scalps being the best for the visitors.

In reply, Swan Hill was bowled out in 32 overs for 131.

Ryan Shepherd was the top-scorer for the visitors with 37.

It was team performance for RSL with the ball, with five bowlers each claiming two wickets.

Nyah District proved too strong for Tooleybuc Manangatang at Tooleybuc, with Kent Wooding leading the way with an inspirational 137 not out and carrying his bat through the Nyah innings.

The knock, along with Justin Toomey’s 69 helped the visitors to reach an imposing total of 287.

Adrian Gordon provided some resistance for the home side, managing 66, but it wasn’t enough with Tooleybuc Manang being bowled out for 137 in 34.4 overs.

Al Pretty and Justin Toomey were the strongest bowlers for Nyah with three wickets apiece.

Round nine next week will again see one-day fixtures, the last matches before the Christmas/New Year break.
