THE annual general meeting of the Murray Downs Ladies Golf Club was held on Wednesday with incumbent captain Maria Ferguson taking the reins for another year.
The presentation of yearly trophies was also held with Kathy Parkinson topping off an excellent season to take out the Golfer of the Year title.
Other winners included Elaine Brown (Donnington Cup), Jenny Lynas (Jan Storer Memorial singles knockout), Nancy Downes and Beryl Smith (four-ball knockout), Lyn Billing (Wealthvine Medal of Medallists) and Jill Bath and Shannon Bishop (Saturday Star joint winners).
A Chapman’s four-ball draw for partners was held preceding the meeting, with Mary-Anne Davis and Beth Robins combining to score 69 nett to win on a count-back from Bev Holt and Jan McLean.
Third placegetters also required a count-back with Kathy Parkinson and Leslie Tuohey getting the nod from Jill Pattenden and Bev Boys, both 69.5 nett.
On Saturday, Joan Foster (31), 36 points, won on a count-back from Barb Clark (24) and Sunday’s winner was Val Hedwards (11), 33 points, ahead of Nancy Downes (23), 31 points.
Bev West was the recipient of two NTP prizes during the week with others going to Joan Foster, Enza Toomer, Mag Kiley and Kath Keating.
