THE highlight for the round was Amedeo Silveri playing for Tooleybuc 2 in division three, on his 100th birthday.
What an outstanding effort for Amedeo, and a great win for your Tooleybuc team.
Division one
THE match of the round was the clash between Nyah District and Lake Boga, played at Nyah. This match went down to the wire with Lake Boga winning two rinks and by three shots, to secure its first win.
Barry Free’s rink had a great struggle with Matt O’Bree’s rink, with Free up by two shots.
Ken Hamill, John McCormack, Max Parsons and Neil Cockfield were the match winners for Lake Boga, scoring a 27/18 win.
Tom Elford, Peter Wynne, Dwayne Wynne and Simon Wynne almost pinched the match for Nyah with a 23/15 victory, but fell three shots short.
Swan Hill proved too good for Racecourse, winning two rinks and finishing 15 shots up.
Glen Evans, Colin Scott, Peter Hutchinson and Tuppy Lewis were in top form for Swan Hill, winning their rink by 14 shots, on 30/16.
Wes Lewis and Grumpy Smith also bowled very well, winning their rink 27/17.
Tom Vernon, Chris Savage, Neil Roberts and John Beard continued their winning form for Racecourse, but their 31/22 result wasn’t nearly enough to win the day.
Balranald was at home to Murray Downs in the clash of the two NSW clubs.
Murray Downs had a comfortable win, up by two rinks and by 39 shots.
Graham Edwards, Kevin Rowe, Darryl Barry and Ray Lambert were 29 shot winners for Murray Downs and Spruker Cahoon, Graeme Cox, John Caldwell and John Alderuccio extended their lead with a 33/10 win.
John Manning, Frank Smith, Lance Howley and Jim Jewell had a great day, winning their rink 28/15 for Balranald.
Lake Boga 8/69 def Nyah 2/66; Swan Hill 8/79 def Racecourse 2/64; Murray Downs 8/87 def Balranald 2/48. Moulamein had the bye.
