POLICE said the actions of a person blasting a CFA water tank with a shotgun were “idiotic” and contradict community values.
The 500 litre fiberglass water tank, used for refilling CFA trucks when required, was located about 16km west of Lake Boga, at the intersection of the Ultima-Lake Boga and Donald-Swan Hill roads.
Sometime in the 24 hours following midnight Sunday, July 14, the tank was punctured with what appeared to be a shotgun blast, spilling water out on to the road.
Senior Sergeant Gary Hughes said the act of criminal damage went against the community spirit that the tank and CFA represented.
“This is reckless, stupid behaviour, with no thought to the actions and the impact that this sort of idiotic behaviour has on communities, and potentially someone’s house or life,” he said.
