Squad hits Bendigo

SWAN Hill’s junior tennis squad is off to Bendigo this weekend.

The squad had its final training session on Sunday, seven days out from an event that will feature Shepparton, Rich River, Bendigo, Macedon Ranges and Creswick.

The squad will compete in age groups ranging from under 12s to under 18s, with some more experienced players — including Lachlan Carroll, Lucy Martin, Jack Delmenico, Cooper Angus, Nick Pay, Breanna Warne, Jamie Gorringe and Milly Saville — to be ranked number one or two in their age groups.

For younger players such as Sunil Handy, Daniel Hughes, Coady Gorringe, Bridie Gardner, Zac Warne, Noah Sherlock, Oscar Lewis and Rory Sheldrick the tournament will be an opportunity to improve their rankings. Following Sunday’s event, the squad will compete at the Northern Squads tournament on August 11.
