A MAN who struck a police officer and sprayed him with capsicum spray near Piangil last year has been sentenced to three years and three months in prison.
New South Wales man Daniel Rodney Hicks, 38, pleaded guilty to a string of charges at Mildura County Court on Monday.
Charges included reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing injury and robbery, as well as three vehicle-related summary charges.
The court heard police stopped Mr Hicks for speeding on the Mallee Highway on October 14 last year.
He refused to accompany police after returning a positive reading on a preliminary breath test, then struck the police officer.
