CAR park ticket machines have been installed in the Swan Hill CBD resulting in
mixed feelings of both confusion and praise.
Yesterday The Guardian witnessed
some of the first few users of Swan Hill Rural City Council’s new machines in
McCrae, Beveridge and Campbell Streets.
Some attempted, wrongly, to select a
parking bay, attempted to use an older multi-bay meter that had not yet been
removed.
Others displayed their tickets clearly on their dashboard with
minimal fuss.
Swan Hill resident Les Trotter said, despite being unhappy
about paying for parking in the first place, the new system was “very
simple”.
“Overall it’s easier. It’s a necessary evil I suppose.”
