Closely fought win for Woorinen

WOORINEN recorded a closely fought 11 run victory over St Mary’s Tyntynder at Woorinen in under 17s action on Friday night. 

After resuming on 2/69 Woorinen added another 16 runs for the third wicket before Taylor Cameron (20) was caught off the bowling of Corey Daniels. 

Joshua Anderson joined Damien Mangiameli at the crease, with the pair putting on 21 before Anderson was bowled by Jesse Alty for 10.

The last three wickets fell for 30 runs as Woorinen finished at 7/136.

Jonty Chaproniere was the standout bowler taking 4/8. 

St Mary’s innings didn’t get off to a great start with Jonty Chaproniere (25) going with the score on 80 and being quickly followed by Joel Chlosey (23). 

Corey Daniels got the score moving with a quick-fire 30. 

St Mary’s couldn’t maintain the momentum finishing at 7/125. 

Taylor Cameron finished with figures of 3/17.
