A RAUNCHY burlesque show, a window-rattling rock gig and a
troupe of comedians headlined by a purple puppet are acts that haven’t quite
satisfied Adrian Corbett’s craving for something “out there”.

Rural City Council’s director of performing arts said next year’s performing
arts schedule would mix the classic crowd-pleasers with a range of acts designed
to show local crowds something they may not have seen before.
Sneak peeks
into the ‘Extreme: 13’ program include a Canadian shadow puppet show and the 360
Degree Allstars, a circus act that replaces jugglers with basketball freestylers
and acrobats with breakdancers.
“Money’s tight but we still want to offer
something that’s high quality and different,” Mr Corbett said.
“Just because
we’re in the country doesn’t mean we should miss out on exciting international
acts.”
