St Mary’s win

ULTIMA TUF resumed in a perilous position on day two after being 4/47 at the end of the day’s play last week, eventually going down to St Mary’s Tyntynder.

The TUF top and middle order did little to reduce the deficit as Corey Daniels and Matt Heffer dismissed Tim Lenton and Naresh Kumar before they added runs to the board.

The tail order was a different prospect for the St Mary’s bowlers as they provided some resistance in what looked likely to be a disappointing effort with the bat.

Tony Denham combined with Bobby Singh to for a 40 run partnership which got the away team out of trouble until Singh was dismissed by Heffer, caught behind for 20 with the total 8/129.

Denham then took to the bowling as he and new partner Matthew Lenton added a further 34 runs — of which Lenton contributed just three — however St Mary’s all but won the match when Heffer once again came through with the goods having Denham caught behind for 59.

The game ended soon after as the final wicket fell without any runs being added.

Ultima TUF finished all out for 163 with Heffer claiming four wickets.

St Mary’s Tyntynder won by 62 runs.
