A PUBLIC meeting will be held this weekend to determine the fate of the nearly 100-year-old Sea Lake Returned and Services League (RSL) sub-branch.
The branch has been in limbo since the death of its secretary treasurer earlier this year and branch president Peter Ottrey said new members, especially those that could fill the administrative void, would be vital to the group’s continuation.
“It’s upon us how much work the secretary treasurer used to do and so we are a really good person down,” he said.
“Hopefully people come and support us so we can keep going.”
Mr Ottrey said while membership was open to the public he would especially encourage ex-service people to join up.
“I know there a few people that have served and aren’t members of the branch and it would be good to see them join,” he said.
