IF YOU go down to the shops today, you’re in for a big surprise.
‘Hidden’ — lead project of this year’s Go North Arts Festival — will see specially-commissioned local art works installed in shops.
As many as 12 stores are hosting artwork throughout the Swan Hill CBD starting today.
Swan Hill artist Shirley Pinchen said she could reveal the location of her installation (Clark’s changeroom) but decided to leave the artwork as a surprise.
“It’s something that’s going to line the inside… it has to do with boxes,” she said.
Ms Pinchen had a solo show at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery and was a finalist for this year’s Print and Drawing Acquisitive Awards.
But she said she was particularly excited about Hidden and how it could provoke awareness about art in the community.
The Go North Arts Festival will be held across the Swan Hill region from October
13 to 26.
