Truck theft

POLICE have apprehended a man accused of a blatant truck theft, in front of the owner, on the Murray Valley Highway.

About noon on Friday the $600,000 prime mover was left by the side of the road near Lake Powell (about 20 kilometres south of Robinvale).

Sergeant Robin McDonald said the driver of the truck had pulled up to look at a car advertised for sale on the side of the highway and had exited his vehicle.

“The offender was driving along, saw the truck stopped and got out and hopped into the prime mover,” Sgt McDonald said

Left standing at the side of the road, the original driver called the police, who were able to find and arrested the alleged offender.
