WHILE many were experiencing the mirth of the Swan Hill Show last weekend, dedicated volunteers were working tirelessly to ensure it all went off without a hitch.
Swan Hill Show treasurer Ann Crowe estimated that at least 60 volunteers had worked to make the 2012 show a reality.
“There’s no way on Earth we’d be able to run the show without volunteers,” she said.
“They are fabulous for giving up all their time and energy for all the effort that is required to put on a two-day show.”
Many new attractions were seen at this year’s show and Ms Crowe said this was reflected with an increase in volunteer numbers.
“We did have a little bit more interest in people volunteering this year and we might’ve also had few extra younger people helping and that’s most important,” she said.
“There’s lots of other people that are too countless to mention that have come on and done extra work this year that they might not have done in previous years.
“I’m proud of our efforts — we’ve achieved a lot this year.”
