Corker of a show

ENTRIES for this year’s Australian Inland Wine Show have jumped 25 per cent, which organisers of the annual awards say reflects positivity in the industry .

The 32nd annual wine competition celebrates the best wines in Swan Hill and other inland regions, with professional judging plus an awards and tasting night.

Show president Peter Holt said there were 265 entries so far, which was approaching pre-drought levels of about 300.

“[In 2011 there was] a general malaise in the industry and it was a bad year for quality across Australia.

“Now, 2012 is being heralded as one of the best years for quality in a long time.”
