GOLFERS decked out in yellow on Wednesday for their first sortie into golf from the yellow tea markers, which have been the prerogative of male golfers up until recently.

Golf Australia has embraced equal opportunity and now allows all golfers to choose which tees they will play off for selected rounds, with handicaps adjusted accordingly for most of the competitors acquiring an extra four shots on this occasion.

The yellow theme was carried on into the clubhouse, where daffodils adorned the tables in a nod to Daffodil Day. Proceeds of a competition will be donated to a local charity connected to cancer support.

The event was played in extremely windy conditions over two divisions, with Division 2 competitors Sally Fearn (41) and Jo Williams (46) both posting 37 points, the former winning on countback.

In Division 1 32 points was the winning score, with Chris Warburton (21) winning on countback ahead of Carol Wiseman (31).
