A sense of community

SWAN Hill Primary School will open their doors to the wider Swan Hill district when they host their annual Open Day later this month.

Enrolments for 2024 are now open and the Open Day will provide the perfect opportunity for families to visit the school, meet with staff and explore the various facilities and programs which are available.

Off the back of strong enrolments in 2023, the school continues to provide excellence in education and this was cemented when they were announced as an award winner at the 2020 Victorian Education Excellence Awards.

The school prides itself on providing dynamic and progressive education which is inclusive.

Built on the ethos of “Achieving Success Together”, students, staff and parents play an important role within the school community, ensuring each student can achieve greatness.

“We guarantee delivery of a personalised, student centred learning program that meets the individual needs of each student,” Prep teacher Rachael Sheehan said.

“Our school is a community that reflects diversity and ensures that all students feel happy and safe.”

While the school’s glowing testimonials highlight its strengths, Ms Sheehan encouraged members of the community to attend the Open Day or book a school tour so they can gain a better understanding of what the school can offer.

Jacey and Dane Koetsveld enrolled their eldest child at the school after attending the school’s Open Day.

“After meeting members of the staff and looking around SHPS at the Open Day, we could feel the sense of community and were very impressed with the facilities and programs available,” Ms Koetsveld said.

It’s a decision the family hasn’t looked back on, and they now have two children enrolled at the school, in Prep and Grade 1.

“The support from the teachers and staff at SHPS has built confidence in our children and given them an excellent foundation for their schooling years,” Ms Koetsveld said.

“SHPS provides an environment that is friendly, inviting and encouraging and the staff are very approachable.”

The Koetsveld family said they have felt a part of the school community from the start and urge other community members to attend the Open Day so that they can see and experience firsthand, life at SHPS.

The SHPS Open Day will take place on Sunday, March 26 from 10am-11am.

Personalised tours are also available throughout the year and these can be arranged by contacting the school directly to arrange a convenient time.
