LAST Sunday we began the season of Advent, where we focus on waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus, and during the week before Christmas, our waiting changes to that of waiting to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
While the street and our homes are decorated, special foods and gifts are gathered, we remember that Christ is the very meaning of Christmas.
As part of Advent, we give hampers of Christmas pantry items to families in our local area, supported by Anglicare.
Rather than give our usual donations of groceries, we are collecting cash donations and then a lot of hampers will be organised and given.
Donations may be left at the office or church.
Grain Shed
LOOKING back over the year as we enter December, where did the last 11 months go?
Praise God that we have a dry spell in front of us at the moment, giving some reprieve for the farmers who have started harvesting and that the Murray is dropping, taking any flood pressures off for the time being.
At the Grain Shed, our youth have their last Friday night meeting at 7pm, with Growth Groups and next Saturday, December 10, a special laser tag in Bendigo outing.
Sunday, a Jingle Jam service is being run by our Grainshed kids starting 9.55am and then a family fun day to follow with games, and a barbecue for all.
We invite you and your friends to come and join in and help make this day a success.
A very big thank you to Pastor Rita, Jodi, Gary, Deb, and all the parents supporting their children for practice sessions who have invested a lot of time into this special service.
Last Friday an error was made regarding our mainly music program and its last day.
This Monday is our end of 2022 session at 10am.
We have had an amazing year working as a team and getting to know and connecting with all our mainly music families. As much as we are sad to finish, we are excited about next year and starting up again.
Create is finishing the year this Thursday at 10am.
Our craft ladies are back 10am on Thursday, ready for coffee and a chat always.
As we start the countdown to Christmas, pause a moment and reflect on the reason Christmas is celebrated.
