Around the churches

Anglican

THANK you to all those customers who visited our boot sale sites last weekend.

Lots of bargains, edibles and social catch-ups were enjoyed.

There’s more of this at Nyah West Op Shop, drop-in centre and men’s shed.

Pay a visit to these and join the men’s shed or volunteer if you wish.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the floods and individuals are offering practical support as they are able.

Services at aged care centres have resumed, with Hope being this last Tuesday and Alcheringa tomorrow at 10.30am. Jacaranda will be later.

Our annual Pioneer Settlement will take place on October 30 at 11 am.

This is held in the church building there and worshippers are encouraged to dress in clothing of “olden days” style.

There is the opportunity to stay and enjoy lunch in the cafe. All are welcome.

Grain Shed

WE are watching and praying as we face the uncertainty of floods and rain.

We cling to God who promises never to leave us or forsake us. Jesus said in Matthew 28 verse 20, “I am with you always”.

To help our local community in a practical way this Christmas, we are planning to distribute Christmas hampers in December.

To be a part of this, collect a bag from the Grain Shed hub and attached to it is a shopping list.

Once you’ve purchased the items, put them in the bag and return it to the Grain Shed by the end of November.

Mainly Music continues on Monday mornings with a lot of fun songs and it is so lovely to see the joy and smiles.

Grain Shed Youth is on Friday nights 7pm-9pm, for all high school age young people.

Grain Shed Youth Ministry is also hosting “Tuning in to Teens” in Term 4.

The session will run on a Friday evening starting October 21 at the same time as the youth group.

To be a part of it, let Liz know by emailing youth@thegrainshed.org.au or call 5032 9449.

We will meet together at 10am on Sunday morning and Pastor La’Mont will be speaking to us.
