Bowls notes, August 23

SWAN HILL

THIS Sunday, August 25, will be Swan Hill Bowls Club opening day, combined with the RSL Diggers Day.

The format for the day is an any combination two bowl triples, with teams and single entries accepted until 9.30am Sunday for $15 per player.

To enter, call Bill King on 0428 324 083 or the bowls club on 5032 1772, or place your name on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.

There is good prizemoney on offer, with $450 for first place, $300 for second and $150 for third, as well as money back for the best winning team in each game.

The day will start with an opening ceremony at 12.15pm, with afternoon tea to be served after the second game and all raffle proceeds to be donated to RSL Legacy.

All members should bring a plate of cake or slice to contribute towards afternoon tea.

Today gives all our bowlers a chance to play in our Friday Frolic social game at 3pm.

Be sure to have your name in by 2.30pm to go into the draw, with all players most welcome, regardless of their status as a bowler, with experienced bowlers always happy to give those with no experience a few tips.

The jackpot has risen above $100 and all those who play bowls are in with a chance of winning when everyone adjourns to the clubhouse after the game to enjoy the happy-hour drinks, hot snacks and the chance to try their luck with Mick’s raffle prizes.

A reminder to all bowlers that annual subscriptions are now due and can be paid at the bar.
