SWAN Hill raised Daniel Croft has been part of the success of some of Western Australia’s largest pastoral properties, and this year he wants to expand.
Mr Croft started his working life as a contract lamb marker on sheep stations as a teenager and has been hooked to helping country people ever since.
His company the Nullagine Group, initially focused on heavy diesel repairs for the mining sector, evolved a pastoral division which has been contracted to develop some of the largest pastoral properties in the west, and now the team are looking to open for business from Swan Hill.
Other branches currently operate in Nullagine, Perth and Broome, all in the west, and Mr Croft’s team manages everything from livestock transport the giant state as well as constructing cattle yards, feedlots and other fencing projects.
The company’s six deck road trains can be seen carting cattle around the sparsely populated corner of the country and there is also a trusty military truck for remote desert work.
Through Mr Croft’s years of contracting he also recognised the need for more manufacturing in the north west to reduce freight costs and to be able to control the quality of the products and he developed West Kimberley Piping Systems and NullaTrough as a result.
While Mr Croft said the move to establish the business in Swan Hill is dependent on COVID-19 travel restrictions, he is keen to expand this year to serve even more of the country – and the tough country in the Mallee will be a walk in the park after their efforts in the north west.
“We have also been responsible for the contracting works on the largest irrigation projects in northern Western Australia,” Mr Croft said.
“We take great pride in the products we can supply to the mining, agriculture, government, civil, oil and gas industries throughout the whole north of WA and NT.
“It will be good to come down to Swan Hill, when we can, to expand the business.”
The Nullagine Group is currently operated mainly from the Kimberley an Pilbara regions, locally manufacturing high quality poly pipe and livestock water troughs and delivering them throughout Western Australia and across the Northern Territory.
The company also manufactures NullaTrough livestock water troughs, and water products for mining, agriculture, government, civil, oil and gas projects.
