Movie Review: The Bad Guys

Swan Hill Showbiz Cinemas have a stack of films opening from March 31 and the next family film to mark in your calendars is “The Bad Guys”.

Based on the NY Times bestselling book series by Australia children’s book author Aaron Blabey, The Bad Guys is an action-packed heist caper comedy for families.

The story centres on five notorious bad guys – Wolf, Snake, Piranha, Shark and Tarantula – who after a lifetime of pulling legendary heists, attempt their most challenging con yet… going good.

Never have there been five friends as infamous as dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf, seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake, chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark, short-fused “muscle” Mr. Piranha and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula, aka “Webs”.

But when, after years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.

With the vocal talents of Sam Rockwell (Jojo Rabbit, The Green Mile) as Mr Wolf, Hannibal Buress (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Broad City) as Mr Shark, Anthony Ramos (In the Heights, Hamilton, A Star is Born) as Mr Piranha, Awkwafina (The Farewell, Crazy Rich Asians) as Ms Tarantula, Marc Maron (respect, as Mr Snake and Richard Ayoade as Prof. Marmalade this is sure to be a hilarious yet heart-warming flick for all ages.

The Dreamworks feature will be in cinemas from March 31 with a members advance screening on Sunday, March 27 in Swan Hill.
