A KORALEIGH man will face Deniliquin Local Court on April 5 charged with stealing sheep from a local grazier according to the Murray River Police District.
The rural crime prevention team based at Deniliquin commenced an investigation after a Koraleigh grazier reported Australian White rams and ewes stolen from his mob between November 2021 and January 2022.
The rural crime investigator, with the assistance of the Murray River police district proactive crime team from Deniliquin executed a search warrant on a small land holding in the Koraleigh District, where they examined and recovered one ram and two ewes.
Subsequent inquiries resulted in a further nine ewes being recovered on January 7 in the Moulamein area.
Those sheep were also examined by police, identified as belonging to the grazier and seized.
The 68-year-old man charged was interviewed by investigators, later issued with a future court attendance notice for the offence of stealing cattle and is to appear before the Deniliquin Local Court in April.
The rural crime prevention team encourages farmers to report all rural crimes as soon as possible to their local police.
