LET’S Dance, an event to celebrate the upcoming International Day of People with Disability (December 3), was a huge success last Friday, with 75 participants plus staff, carers, and parents letting their hair down.
Progressive Unity – Swan Hill Disability Network planned the event and, after consulting with young people of all abilities, the decision was made to have a dance event with a movie theme.
This gave the opportunity for some organisations, such as Echuca Discoveries Swan Hill, VIVID, and Expressive Arts, to showcase their talent.
Participants attending were from Echuca Discoveries Swan Hill, VIVID, Swan Hill Specialist School and Ability & Ambition.
Harry Schlegel was the DJ, playing popular music that everyone enjoyed, and he also brought his parrot along for photo opportunities.
In addition to dancing there were craft activities, coloured hairspray for people to use, face painting, and plenty of giveaways.
