LOCATED in the centre of Swan Hill on busy Beveridge Street, Cafe 202 is a delicious spot for locals to meet up.
Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, brunch, or just a place to enjoy your everyday morning coffee, Cafe 202 has become a local mainstay.
In addition to burgers, pancakes and milkshakes on the menu, the cafe offers a blend of familiar favourites and newer items.
Cafe owner Upinder Kalra said 202 strived to create a warm and inviting environment with quality service and friendly staff.
“We have very committed staff members, some of whom have dedicated years to working here,” he said.
Mr Kalra, who has had seven years of experience working at restaurants in Melbourne, recently decided to bring his expertise to Swan Hill after living here for six years.
Building relationships with repeat local customers is what Mr Kalra has enjoyed most about working at Cafe 202.
“In a small community, there are a lot of regulars and you see a lot of familiar faces who come to enjoy their morning coffee every day,” he said.
“Back in Melbourne, you don’t really get that experience.”
Mr Kalra said that it’s the consistency and quality of the food and coffee that has gained the cafe loyal customers.
“We are pretty serious about coffee,” he said.
“We weigh every single coffee shot to make sure that customers’ orders taste the same every single day they come here. “I don’t think any other cafe in Swan Hill is doing that.”
Cafe 202 is also proud of its commitment to the community.
At the start of the year, the cafe announced a discount for emergency service workers of 20 per cent on their orders, as well as a 10 per cent discount for students.
“We just wanted to thank the community for their support and give back to them,” he said.
