Gold coin admission scrapped

EXCLUSIVE:

Swan Hill municipality residents and ratepayers will no longer be required to pay a gold coin for admission into the Pioneer Settlement.

Currently, residents are required to provide evidence of residential proof.

Friends of the Pioneer Settlement Laura Smith said the iconic tourist attraction had received many complaints about the gold coin admission.

“We have a lot of residents who support the Pioneer Settlement, who put into its upkeep through rates,” Ms Smith said.

Ms Smith said Friends of the Pioneer Settlement had advocated for the change.
