Blazers shoot down Gunners

THE SHC Blazers took on the RSL Gunners at the Swan Hill Club on Wednesday night, with the Blazers securing a comfortable 7-2 win at home.

The Blazers got away to a good start after winning all their doubles matches before the Gunners secured a couple of the singles victories, with Annika Cunningham winning her first singles match ever for the Gunners.

Unfortunately the Gunners finished the night with a loss in the teams event, with Holden Ward playing an amazing first singles game to peg it in only 14 darts – the shortest game for the season so far.

The RSL Have A Goes hosted Let’s Get Pegged at the RSL, with the Have a Goes getting away to an unusually shaky start, losing two of their doubles games.

It was smooth sailing after that, however, as the home team failed to drop another match, going on to claim a 7-2 victory, with “Bones” Field throwing a 3/129 peg to take out one of his singles. The final match of the round was at the Ultima Golf Club, where the Bullchuckers hosted the Tooley Tigers.

The Tigers took an early lead after the doubles, but the Bullchuckers clawed it back in the singles to level the score at four games all heading into the deciding teams game.

The Bullchuckers eventually came out on top in the teams event after an enthralling contest, claiming a 5-4 win.

Plenty of high scores and high pegs were thrown on the night, including a 180 by Kyle Adamson for the Tigers.
