Members of Swan Hill’s multicultural communities headed to McCallum Street yesterday to celebrate Swan Hill Police’s Community Information Day.
People were able to taste food from the different cultures of the Swan Hill region, including Australian damper, Indian pakora and Egyptian basbousa.
There was also henna art, face painting and Aboriginal art activities, as well as the chance for people to have chat with members of Mallee Family Care and Swan Hill Police.
Victoria Police Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer Lateesha Jeffrey said the event was a way to bring the community together.
“With Christmas coming up, we wanted to hold a community day about what Victoria Police has to offer to the community,” she said.
“It was also a multicultural day with an aim to bring the community together rather than having separate cultural days for each culture.
