A WOORINEN club legend has been honoured for her years of service at the club as she was officially handed the 2016 Worksafe AFL Victoria Country Volunteer of the Year award.
The canteen’s lifeblood, Jane Steicke received the honour after being nominated earlier this year — the first time a volunteer had been recognised in the state-wide competition from the Central Murray Football Netball League (CMFNL) in recent memory.
After the clubhouse at Woorinen Recreation Reserve was devastated by fire, volunteers like Steicke have supported everyone through the turbulent time with a dedication to the club that never wavered.
