Gas link coming

SWAN Hill is set to be connected directly to a statewide natural gas chain by the end of the year after the long-awaited development on a new receiving station started this week.

Swan Hill Rural City Council representatives, including Mayor Les McPhee, met with officials from Regional Development Victoria and natural gas provider Brookfield in Swan Hill’s industrial sector yesterday to make the announcement.

Brookfield project manager Tod Henderson estimated the district would be connected to cheaper natural gas later in the year.
