BUDDING graphic designer Tanisha Vargas scooped first prize in the NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) logo contest.
Ms Vargas’ design will grace signage associated with NAIDOC Week activities throughout next week.
She did some research before designing her winning logo and discovered the local Aboriginal community were not as focused on dot painting art work as much as line work.
She then designed her logo based upon the Murray cod and told the traditional story of the cod’s significance to the river’s creation.
Sea Lake Preschool and Matthew Brown took the runners-up honours.
