FOOTBALL legend Peter Knights has urged the state and federal governments to do more for dairy farmers who have been struggling following the recent milk price crisis.
Speaking to The Guardian during his visit to Lake Boga on Sunday, the three-time Hawthorn premiership hero and AFL hall of famer said he wanted to see more done to support struggling farmers.
“It sucks. It stinks, my parents are still on the farm and my mates on the farm have been having to cut costs by cutting farm hands,” Knights said.
“They haven’t been able to sustain a salary for the farm hands, there is more pressure and anxiety and it is really tough.”
