ANOTHER corporate giant could be coming to Swan Hill’s CBD, this time a Coles Express service station.
The planning permit for the proposed development on the corner of McCallum and Beveridge Streets has been lodged with the Swan Hill Rural City Council.
The formerly empty block is currently open for residents who are unable to access their driveways while the Beveridge Street phase three upgrade is underway.
The Notice of an Application for Planning Permit has been released, stating the application is a permit for “Use and development of the land for a service station, installation of advertising signage in a Commercial 1 Zone and creating access to a road in a Road Zone Category 1 in accordance with the endorsed plan.”
The applicant for the permit is Pro Urban.
Council has stated that if the proposal may cause locals material detriment they, “may object to the application.”
Objections must be in writing and state the reasons for the objection, which will be received up until two weeks from today — October 23.
For more information, contact the council at planning@swanhill.vic.gov.au or call the Planning Department on 5036 2352.
