THE search for a 44-year-old Swan Hill man missing since September has taken to the skies, with a police helicopter enlisted to help local police in their investigation.
Heading to the last known whereabouts of Mark Anthony Beames, the chopper passed over the Harrison Crescent area, including the No. 9 Channel — which was searched by SES divers earlier this month.
Aerial photographs were taken of the sites to get a better understanding of the area and assist with future searches involving specialist teams from Melbourne.
Swan Hill Detective Senior Constable Michael Corridan said information provided to police had lead them to focus their efforts on the irrigation channel and part of the Murray River downstream from the Swan Hill-Murray Downs bridge.
“We can’t say for certain he is anywhere right now,” he said.
