Tackling the Port to Port

SWAN Hill will be represented by 22 riders in this year’s Port to Port. The 16th edition of the charity ride starts in Mildura tomorrow and finishes in Echuca on Sunday, with riders stopping at Swan Hill overnight.

The Swan Hill team is called POSH — Peddlers of Swan Hill — with five riders to tackle the full distance.

Debbie Leahy, Andy McSwain, Albie Walsh, Dave King and Denise Braun will take on the event in its full 400km brutality, while the remaining seven riders — more sensible perhaps — will take part in a relay-style ride to Echuca.

Leahy has taken part in the event, which raises money for Chances for Children, 12 times. On seven occasions she has done the full distance.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the fundraising effort can contact her on 0408 326 642 or Louisa Curran on 0409 439 902.
