Self-defence courses popular

A SELF-DEFENCE course for women has proved popular, according to Swan Hill Mixed Martial Arts business manager Genene Jones.

Jones said places had “booked out very quickly”.

“So there’s apparently a need or desire for girls to learn defensive tactics,” she said.

“The first night was all about awareness and creating a safety net around our lives, while the next two nights are very much about practical self-defence.”

Jones said by the end of the courses “more than 60 women from all walks of life will have participated and been pro-active about their own safety”.

The courses are being run by Bendigo instructor Stewart Moulden in conjunction with Swan Hill MMA.
