Lessons learnt in Swan Hill

WITH UNIVERSITY placements released this Friday, 19-year-old Swan Hill resident and Sunraysia TAFE student Laura Fleming says students should not worry if they miss out on gaining a spot.

“There are usually other ways to get into university through pathway courses so you don’t have to move away straight away,” she said.

“It’s really about looking around to see what is available and asking people for advice.

“Try and look for support and help to see what is available in Swan Hill.”

After completing VCE at Swan Hill College in 2012, Laura said she had enjoyed her first year out of high school and was looking forward to 2014.

“I’ll be finishing my Diploma in Community Services this year,” she said.
