One day action starts

THE first one-day round of the Swan Hill District Cricket Association summer calendar was played on Saturday.

Coming up against the Lakers, Swan Hill piled on an impressive 347 at home with Harry Clewett top-scoring with an unbeaten 163.

Lakers were all out for just 67 in reply, with Brad Cockfield and Stuart Dixon both claiming three scalps for the home side.

Up at Nyah, visitors Woorinen batted first and made 180.

The visitors proved up to the task with the ball, however, dismissing the home side for 152 to take out the win.

Stefan Mangiameli had the best figures of Woorinen’s bowlers, with 3/27 off eight overs.

Over at Tooleybuc the home side took on RSL, with the visitors getting up for a win.

Tooleybuc Manangatang batted first but was unable to put significant scoreboard pressure on RSL, recording a total of just 76.

A devastating display of 5/12 off eight overs from Pat Caldwell proved crucial for RSL.

RSL passed the total with the loss of just two wickets, with Dwayne Birch top-scoring with 27.

In the last game of the round, Ultima TUF proved too strong for St Mary’s Tyntynder at Ken Harrison Reserve.

Batting first, the home side put on 157 with Brent Daniels top-scoring with 57.

Alistair Ward was the best of Ultima TUF’s bowlers with 5/40.
