EXCITEMENT has been jumping out of prep students across the region who are
celebrating their 100th day of school.
Swan Hill District, Swan Hill North
and St Mary’s primary schools are all participating in the fun and organising
celebratory activities.
On Friday The Guardian visited Swan Hill North
Primary School, where activities included painting 100 spots, creating edible
necklaces made out of 100 fruitloops and bringing in a collection of 100 small
items.
Student Deja Hovenden expressed that she already felt smarter reaching
this milestone.
Her favourite activity was creating one of the 100 jellyfish
made by the students.
Swan Hill North Primary prep teachers Karla Miceli and
Ashlynn Benette said the students had been counting down the days since they
started school.
“It has helped them with their learning and understanding of
numbers,” Ms Miceli said.
Ms Benette agreed, adding that it had been an
enjoyable 100 days.
“The children are lovely, we always have great laughs
together,” she said.
