Farrer candidate lays out wish list

REPEALING the carbon tax, processing minerals within Australia and equal
distribution of wealth are high on the list of the nominated Palmer United
candidate for Farrer.

Albury/Wodonga businessman Ron Emmerton has lived in
the region all his life and currently runs a construction business in the local
community.

He has now joined the federal election race after 10 years
experience with state laws, mainly home building and consumer trading policies,
and participation in reforms.

He said in the current political climate,
democracy “does not exist” and hopes to change that if elected as candidate for
Farrer.

“This party has only been formed for around nine weeks, and what
we’ve been able to achieve is astounding,” he said.

“The policies we run are
very different from the propaganda you read in the paper.

“Our country is in
desperate need of having their voice heard at the federal level.”

He said the
diversity of the Farrer electorate, and it’s cross-border issues, needed to be
better addressed.
