Bowls prelims at Tooleybuc

THE prelininary finals of the Murray Valley Bowls Division will be played at Tooleybuc Sporting Club tomorrow and the weather should be great.

Division one

NYAH District will play Murray Downs for the right to play Swan Hill in next week’s grand final.

Both Nyah and Murray Downs had a rink that was soundly beaten and they can’t afford for that to happen this week.

These two teams have met twice this year with one close win each.

Nyah will be hoping that Peter Wynne, Matt O’Bree, Simon Wynne and Peter Monck can continue with their great form.

Bryan Smith and Rod Lusty will be hard to beat and Frank Jacka will be the skipper on the other rink.

Terry Pearse, Keith Burrage and Tom Elford have played in many finals campaigns and will be ready for whoever they face.

Murray Downs has been in many finals but not tasted success for a long time, yet it has the personnel to take it right up to Nyah.

Graeme Cox, Spruker Cahoon, Kevin Rowe, Peter Furnell, Graham Edwards and Buc Lehmann are all seasoned performers.

The Murray Downs side will not be able to leave it up to one rink tomorrow — all three need to fire if the New South Wales team is to win.

Murray Downs was lucky to get away with a win last week — they will take advantage of that and will win a very close game over Nyah by four shots.
