ONE Swan Hill resident is $349,913 richer after taking home a syndicate share of last week’s $100 million Oz Lotto draw.
Beardsley’s Swan Hill Newsagency was unable to name the local winner but owner Peter Beardsley said it was pleasing to see it go to a regular customer.
“It was definitely a local, a regular… more than anything that was the most exciting thing,” he said.
The anonymous local bought a ticket, along with a group of 80 punters, in an Australia-wide syndicate.
At $291 each, the “high system” syndicate tickets ensured more numbers and a higher probability of winning. But it was still a drop in the ocean, with more than eight million tickets sold around Australia, boosting the $100 milllion jackpot up to $111,972,151 million.
