Preschool enrollments on the rise

GROWING families in local communities have ensured next year’s enrolments at the Tooleybuc preschool are looking up.

Preschool director Leah McAlpine said the education centre, which has three full time staff, was blossoming.

“We’ve got a good little centre and it works well,” she said.

So much so, that the preschool had to apply to human services to extend the four to five age group from 21 to 25 for 2012 enrolments.

A total of 38 children aged three to five have been enrolled in the preschool throughout the year.

“Last year there were too many enrolments — we had a waiting list and we don’t like turning anyone away,” Ms McAlpine said.
