FOUR local young basketballers are one step closer to making their hoop dreams a reality thanks to Basketball Victoria.
Hamish Lawry, Mityen McInnes, Asha Neuschafer and Kiera Van Coller have all been selected to attend this year’s Under 12 Country Jamboree.
They will travel to Echuca for the event, held September 16-19, taking part in training sessions and tournament-style play.
Chosen were 240 boys and girls from 1200 athletes who participated in skills days across 10 Victorian regional centres.
Each year, the Basketball Victoria Jamboree provides basketballers the opportunity to play against and train with their peers from across regional Victoria.
It provides athletes, coaches and referees their first chance to be part of the Victorian high-performance system and shows pathways to the elite levels of the sport.
