Cooking up a storm

ITALIAN chef Marco Moresco will cook up a storm when Swan Hill Wholesalers unveils its new catering showroom today.

Mr Moresco is corporate chef at Unox and will provide cooking demonstrations throughout the day, highlighting the capabilities of Unox commercial combi ovens.

As the world’s No.1 commercial oven manufacturer, Unox marketing chef Will Weightman said the methodology behind the company was simple.

“We don’t sell ovens, we sell solutions,” Mr Weightman said.

In an industry that was severely impacted by COVID and labour shortages, Unox aims to simplify the cooking process, providing high-quality dishes, while increasing productivity and offering space-saving solutions.

Perfect for baking and gastronomy, Unox provides options for vacuum cooking, steam cooking, drying, gratinating, browning, roasting at both low and high temperatures, braising and frying.

“At Unox, we take pride in supporting clients with professional service and helping to build each other’s success,” Mr Weightman said.

“We aim to reduce the problems you may encounter during work, increase efficiency and foster better working relationships with our customers.”

Providing a complete range

AVEM Quirks business development manager Damien Walsh said the showroom expansion at Swan Hill Wholesalers added a new dynamic for the local hospitality industry.

He said his company prided itself on bringing the best specialised equipment, technology and service solutions to the retail, food and medical industries, with a comprehensive range of cooking, chilling and display equipment.

Looking forward to showcasing their products within the Mallee, their partnership will enable Swan Hill Wholesalers to become the leading distributor of Electrolux Professional products, providing a complete range of commercial hospitality solutions.

As a former executive chef, Mr Walsh is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the industry and he was looking forward to sharing his expertise and product knowledge with those attending the launch.

Having worked in high-end restaurants, accommodation houses and conference centres, he enjoyed working with customers to meet their individual needs.

“We are committed to innovation and providing simple end-to-end solutions that enhance the efficiency and safety of our customers’ businesses,” Mr Walsh said.

He said the company was committed to establishing long lasting relationships with their clients, “from sales and multi-site installations to asset management, extensive after-sales service and programmed maintenance programs”.

Keeping it cool

COMBINING more than 70 years of experience in the commercial kitchen and food service industry, Hoshizaki specialises in ice machines and refrigeration, and has gained an international reputation for sustainable innovation, durability and reliability.

Hoshizaki business development manager for Victoria and Tasmania, Anthony Saba looked forward to building long-lasting relationships within the Mallee, through their partnership with Swan Hill Wholesalers.

Mr Saba said while regional centres often missed out on access to premium products, the expansion of Swan Hill Wholesalers opened up many new opportunities for the region.

“Not only will residents have access to premium product availability but from a freight perspective, we have been able to offer our best discount structures for locals,” he said.

Mr Saba said there was a shift in consumer purchasing behaviour, with a conscious move towards long-lasting reputable brands which stood the test of time.

Having worked with Swan Hill Wholesalers for many years, in a number of different capacities, Mr Saba said he recognised the potential within the Mallee and was looking forward to building relationships and servicing the region.

“Hoshizaki designed and developed Japan’s first fully automatic ice maker and from this pioneering base, we have an ice-making and refrigeration product range that exceeds expectations in the demanding sectors of food, beverage, bars and restaurants, bio-science, health care and education,” Mr Saba said.
