MURRAY DOWNS LADIES

Kerry McDonald is one of our new golfers and had a day to remember at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club on Wednesday. Competing in a field of sixty-eight women, Kerry scored an awesome 47 points from her beginner’s 54 handicap and as a result, will now compete off 45. This score was far and away the best of the day and resulted in Kerry winning C Grade from junior Audrey Domaille (37) on 37 points.

Clare Nalder-Martin (28) returned the next best score of 40 points to win the B Grade competition from Kate Lochery (30) on 38 points – while the A Grade winners were Shelley Wilkins (19) on 38 points, ahead of Jenny Ford (21) on 34 points.

Kathryn Brennan led the ball pool with 38 points, followed by Laurel Dewhurst and Lynne Lawry on 35 points. Gaye Legudi, Lynne Lawry, Jenny Ford and Judi Benbow collected the nearest the pin prizes.

On Saturday, Sarah Clark (21) with 42 points won, from Ruth McAlister (30) on 39 points – with both players also winning the nearest the pin prizes on offer. Marg Moore (37 points) and Barb Clark (36 points) were the next best.

The 2022 four ball knockout winners are Bev Holt and Lois Coady after a close contest with Fay Rush and Joy Sheldrick – while Jenny Lynas withstood a concerted challenge from Sue Davis to take out the singles knockout title.
