The youth of Swan Hill will showcase their many talents at this year’s annual Youth Ball.
The Novo Youth Ball returns in 2024 to the Swan Hill Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Friday, March 22 with a theme of autumn.
Initiated in 2019 by the NOVO Youth Council, the event is organised for the youth by the youth.
Supported by Swan Hill City Council, young people aged 12-25 plan events and various support programs for the youth of Swan Hill and surrounding districts.
The Youth Ball is an opportunity to encourage young people to have connectivity within the community and raise awareness for mental health by providing an inclusive and welcoming environment.
NOVO council member Dekoda Barber said the Youth Ball was great because it encouraged young locals to have their say on how the event is run.
“This is really important when it comes to keeping the younger demographic engaged.” Ms Barber said.
“Bring your friends and your warmest autumn tones, and be prepared to enjoy a night of fun!”
With no dress code, the ball is a come-as-you-like event. From jeans to a ball gown, guests can where whatever the like, to encourage inclusiveness and young people to come together.
NOVO Council Member Rosa Orlando said that it is a fantastic opportunity to hang out with mates and meet new people within the community.
This event is proudly supported by Swan Hill NOVO Youth Council, FReeZA, Belgravia Leisure, Youth Inc and Swan Hill Rural City Council and is strictly a drug, smoke and alcohol-free event.
Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at secondary schools or YouThink at 50-52 Campbell St, Swan Hill.
